Shabby Chic Wedding

Being different is my forte'. As you read my blogs, you will soon find this out; especially when it comes to creativity. Have you ever considered a shabby chic wedding? I just love them! It can be quite cost effective too. Ideas to follow.

First, let me provide a definition for shabby chic - Refers to a type of design and decorating style that incorporates using art and furniture from older design periods. Specifically, designs that look a litte worn, in order to create a pleasingly aged but elegant desigh scheme. Also known as vintage.

Now, here are just a few shabby chic items you can use at a wedding:
  • vintage candleabras
  • storm lamps
  • vintage photo frames for place cards
  • old floral sheets for draping
  • wicker baskets spray painted for favors
  • vases from thrift stores
  • laced linen table cloths
  • potted combinations filled with flowers or herbs used as centerpieces
  • dried lavender tied with dried grasses afixed to pews
  • candels in mason jars
  • shabby bird cage used for card holders
  • vibrant colors mixed with gold

Great tips of the items to be used at the wedding. My cousin is planning her anniversary party at one of graceful New York wedding venues suggested by her friend. Thinking to have white floral decorations and wall of photographs to be highlighted with matching lights.
